no-not unless you have lights, heat etc.
if you were to start seedlings off in soil they'd only get so far at best.as temps are starting to fall, it's doubtful if you'd get strong seedlings, & with the frosts approaching, they'd have no chance of survival.
so much too late to start now...
yesterday i de-bugged a few plants which were infested with aphids & whitefly (outside).once i'd finished, various hoverflies, parasitic wasps & sundry predators suddenly descended on my dripping plants!
i examined one plant in particular, a ring of fire, & observed a hoverfly settle on a bud & begin to despatch an aphid, then another did the same on a flower.
was i glad to see these little workers appear on time? yes-as i was due at work soon, & it'll save on bug spray!!
haven't seen any of their young so far though....

these bugs will only eat the buds & flowers so get rid, whether manually squishing, or by spraying with a decent bugkiller spray.
Definitely from a packet of SDCF Ring of Fire (in fact I still have the packet - but not the inner one). I haven't grown Jalapenos since 2005, so it's not a case of mislabelling the seedlings. I germinated all the seeds, kept 3 plants, gave 3 or 4 away (I'm checking with those people I know) and composted the rest.
many fruits will get a purple "scorching" on them caused by exposure to the sun's rays.it's nothing to worry about & will not affect the flavour or heat of the pod(s).
This plant grew from a seed i took from a packet of habaneros i bought from tescos, imported from Costa Rica.
Already this year ive got over 50 fruit set and and its still going strong.
As you can see its in a pot and is no more than 14 inches tall and is probably wider than tall but real bushy.
The flavour is real great and heat levels just as good.
Think i hit lucky.
