Anyone going or has been before? Is it worth a look?

Why don't you just give it a try and go there next time. Once I was participating in an event called "The real taste of Southern Illinois", which I wasn't very convinced about. Nevertheless, I went there and it was absolutely surprising how rich of culture and enthusiastic the event was. I haven't looked far beyond the burger and fast-food culture at this time, but this event opened my eyes.
So, don't miss something when you really want it!

Hi Dan,

First time posting here. I've been to the festival a few times. It's absolutely huge. Tons of things going on.
They have guest speakers talking about cooking your chillies. They have people giving lessons on growing.
Plenty of free samples to try.
Just be sure to take plenty of money because you'll soon be buying far more than you thought you would. I seem to get into some sort of chilli fever and end up with tons of different sauces, jellies and seeds.
One year I even got to have a chat with the guy that grows the Dorset Naga.

Definitely recommend it!

Well worth a trip. Tip - get there early; the roads can get crazy.
