My homegrown Jalapeno's pictures from seed to fruit

The last pictures are about a month old, now the plants are literally covered in fruit. I have so many i dont know what to do with them. Today im pickleing some, any other ideas how i can use them up would be greatly appreciated.

Also i have another pepper plant (you can see it in the pictures) i not really sure what it is, i think it might be a bell pepper, can anyone confirm what it is?

Hi Noto you could dry them then keep them in an air tight container, mine are still good from last summers crop.Or just pop them into a feezer bag and stick them in the freezer they will keep good until you need to use them.

Hi Noto. If you or a friend have access to a smoker, try making these Jalapenos into Chipotles.

Hi,

Jals can be difficult to dry - they have a tendency to go moldy before they dry out. If you smoke them for a day before starting the drying, that will do the trick.

Some other ideas:

De-stock, put in a food processor, reduce to a chop and freeze.

De-stock and liquidize with wine vinegar (50/50), bring to a boil and bottle.

My favourite though is to slice and pickle in white wine vinegar:
1kg Jals, 500ml water, 500mm 5% wine vinegar, 100g sugar.
Clean some jars, fill with slices.
Bring water/vinegar/sugar to the boil, pour into jars to cover slices
Lid and wait a month.

Cheers, Steve.
