I am germinating seeds in standard seed modules and then potting them on.
I read somewhere that chillies like being potted on frequently - is this true?

Are there any rules of thumb about how tall they should be for (say) 3",4",5",6" pots ?

Finally, do you soak them so they knock out of the pots easily (I have done this for some chillies I over-wintered - most were succesful but I think the extra water has killed my habaneros as the leaves have turned pale and mostly dropped off)

Pot them on gradually, wait until they have outgrown the old pots. I wouldn't advise reporting too frequently as chillies hate having their roots disturbed. As a general rule of thumb wait until you see the roots poking throught the drainage holes in the old pot.

Do you soak them to knock them out of the pots ??

No I just make sure the compost is moist enough to keep the root ball intact. It's important to avoid too much water around the roots of your chillies.
