About Us

Jason (left) & Steve (right)Let us first introduce ourselves: we are Jason Nickels (left) and Steve Waters (right), and together with our families we own and run the South Devon Chilli Farm. We have been growing chillies on an increasingly large scale for longer than we care to remember, but the business as we now know it started at the beginning of 2003. The chilli farm has expanded greatly since it's humble beginnings to the point where we now grow over 10,000 chilli plants every year and harvest tonnes of fresh chillies which we sell fresh or use in our range of chilli sauces, preserves and chilli chocolate. We now have up to 8 staff helping us out, and all year round there is always more than enough to keep us busy.

Our farm and shop are open for visitors all year. You can come along and wander among the fruiting chilli plants, sample all of the sauces, preserves and chocolate made on the farm and take away fresh chillies, chilli seedlings, plants and seeds (during the growing season).

We are open from 10-4pm seven days a week, except for the weekends between Christmas and Easter. At our small on-site shop you can buy:  our delicious chilli products and chilli-growing equipment (all year round); our fresh chillies (from July to November); our dried or smoked chillies (from July to December) and our plants (from May to October).

You may also see our chilli products for sale in farm shops and delicatessens near you. We supply to many local outlets in the West Country and we have also extended our distribution to many other shops nationwide. Please let us know if you have a farm shop or deli near to you that would appreciate our unique chilli products.

Our growth as a company has been well documented in the media with numerous features in national newspapers as well as TV appearances on BBC Gardeners World, BBC Country File, ITV, West Country TV and UKTV Food. We are also recommended by Jamie Oliver as a supplier of chillies. Jamie says, "As you know I am a Chilli freak and these guys grow the best in the country". Tom Parker-Bowles, food writer and confirmed chilli lover has also recommended our products in his regular Sunday Mail Column.

Feel free to browse around our site and learn more about us, we hope you find it rewarding.
