stumbled on farm when in devon last week,nice people and great products,the bhut joloka sauce was b***dy hot enough for me and the chilli chocolates are to die for ,will be buying more by mail order

buht jolokia sauce and mash is a must for every chilli loving person, if you like curry make a vindaloo then add some mash to the pan .ouch....

That Bhut Jolokia sauce, right? It's hot, okay? Sometimes it even makes my stomach makes noises like an approaching storm . But it's the flavour that keeps the bottle near the table. It's a savoury, lightly smoky aroma and taste, dense and very exciting to the chilli lover. Plus all those endorphines, of course. Sends me a bit la-la, b(h)ut I love it

I recently purchased a bottle of your Bhut Jolokia chilli sauce and have finished half the bottle already. The fruity taste is fantastic and blows the pants off that well known inferior tabasco brand. However, I hate to say that the heat is somewhat mild in comparison to my expectation, especially considering the "enough for a lifetime" statement. A single taste did blow my brothers heads off, but I must say I'm not quite feeling it. Do you have anything hotter? I am always up for a challenge!

it a nice tasing sauce, bt i was expecting hotter. non the less a great buy and if they make a fresh bhut product i will be first in line to purchase

*** SDCF Reply. Hi Nick. Yes, we hope to have enough fresh Bhut to make a fresh version this year. Our expectation is that this will deliver heat much more quickly than the dried version.

A great sauce with a good fruity flavour that the heat doesn't kill. Not as hot as I expected but still has a good kick, it goes for the tip of your tongue and the back of the throat. The heat drops off fairly quickly so even if you over do it you can cope with it. Half a teaspoon in a chilli adds a nice hit.

It's great tasting, but you guys need something much hotter. Eating this with cheese now and it's not mind blowing (although very hot). I'd love you to do something extreme, the sort of thing that blows your head of - add much more than the 8% you've got in this and you'll be there

**** SDCF Reply. Hi Steve, yes, I agree - we could do hotter. This sauce is three times hotter than our previous hottest sauce, Hot Habanero, so we're getting there. The 8% is a little misleading with this product - this is the only sauce we make at the moment with dried chillies and dried chillies are 10% of the weight of fresh chillies, so if we made this sauce with fresh Bhut Jolokia, we would need to cram 80g of fresh into this 100ml bottle. We are looking at adding something even hotter soon...

You have a No1 Fan ....I love this sauce on meats, chips and everything. It is a really tasty and satisfyingly hot sauce, thankfully a chilli sauce that does what it says on the (new 100ml) bottle. I have tried the rest and have to say this is by far the best. I love your whole Bhut range but particularly enjoy the chilli sauce straight from the bottle. Any plans to breed something hotter?

*** SDCF Reply. Hi Sean, thanks for the comments. The sauce is made with dried Bhut Jolokia at the moment, and we hope to move to a sauce made from fresh and dried to add more flavour. We can also make this recipe hotter - we currently rehydrate dried chillies to form about 70% of the bottle contents, so we could increase that a little.
