Show Tunnel

Show tunnel at the South Devon Chilli Farm in mid summer

We are very sorry but our Cafe & Farm Shop are still closed due to the Covid-19 situation.

We are hoping to re-open our Farm Shop in the school summer holidays, sometime in July 2021.

At the moment we have no plans to re-open our Cafe.

We will advertise on our social media and via a newsletter when we have an opening date and opening times.

In the meantime it is still possible to purchase online and then collect from the farm, using our Click&Collect option at the checkout, or have your items delivered to your home using DPD or Royal Mail.

Opening Times: Usually from late May to late November

(at the start and end of season, please call to check before making a special journey)

Currently Closed

A wonderful display of colourful chilli plants in all shapes and sizes. The best time to visit the Show Tunnel is from late July onwards, when most of the plants will have ripe fruits and the collection of colours and shapes are stunning. We display around 150 - 200 varieties of chilli plant in the Show Tunnel. Each plant has a name label with some description about where it comes from or how it is used. There are weird and wonderful names for chilli plants and some interesting facts accompany many of the plants.

At the start of the growing season, the Show Tunnel is a lovely warm sheltered spot to hide away from any cloud, wind or rain - you can close your eyes and imagine you are in the Mediterranean. In summer, on a sunny day, the show tunnel can get almost tropical - over 35 degrees centigrade! however you can usually find a little shade at the far end where we have a couple of resident banana plants.

The Show Tunnel Quiz - fun for all the family - each year we put together a quiz sheet, with fun clues leading to chilli plant names.

Dogs on leads welcome.
