Jamaica's very own chilli that is very similar to the Scotch Bonnet in terms of heat and flavour profile. However, despite their similarities, the Jamaican Red Mushroom is almost consistently mushroom-shaped or flying saucer-shaped while the Scotch Bonnet can have a wide array of phenotypical variations. Fruits ripen from green to red.
Since this is a habanero-type chilli, it can grow quite large and produce a good crop of fruits that mature and ripen late in the summer. Plants may need supporting especially when they start setting fruits. They can be grown in pots or directly in the ground. Minimum pot size is 2 litres.
